Education and Professional Development Needs
of Adult Literacy Educators in British Columbia
Call for Survey Respondents and Interview Participants
My name is Suzanne Smythe and I work in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University, responsible for adult literacy courses and programs. I am surveying the education and professional development needs of adult literacy educators in British Columbia. I hope that the results of this research will assist educators, employers, policy makers and education institutions to plan and develop education programs for literacy/ABE educators that support their career goals and the development of the literacy field.
You are invited to complete a 13-question survey and/or a 30-minute interview.
The survey should take 15-20 minutes to complete.
The survey is located on a server based at Simon Fraser University, in Burnaby, Canada. The survey is anonymous and does not request personal or sensitive information. You may complete the survey online here http://websurvey.sfu.ca/survey/50513464 and exit from this survey at any time by closing the browser.
If your organization would like to receive hard copies of the survey to distribute to your members, please contact me at sksmythe@sfu.ca. The hard-copy surveys will be collected in blank envelopes to preserve anonymity.
If you would like to participate in a 30-minute interview about your educational and professional development needs as an adult literacy educator, and the needs of the field in general, please contact me at sksmythe@sfu.ca and I will send you information about the interview.
